In-Depth Information
If staying downtown you won't need a vehicle, as countless diversions are just steps away.
But if you are anchored to a car, most downtown parking is paid. Weekends bring a res-
pite: downtown parking garages are free.
And a word of warning to all drivers: Boulder's traffic cameras levy speeding fines,
starting from $40 - a downer when one of these beauties lands in your mail box.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Boulder has superb public transportation, with several RTD bus routes lacing the city and
connecting the Hill with downtown and North Boulder. Buses have bike racks.
Boulder Transit Center ( 303-299-6000; 1800 14th St) The city's public transportation hub is a
good place to pick up maps of the transportation network. Offers free public parking on
weekends; not so easy to come by elsewhere in the city.
TAXI
Boulder Yellow Cab ( 303-777-7777; www.boulderyellowcab.com ; 24hr) Boulder's biggest and best
cab company - actually a subsidiary of Colorado's largest taxi conglomerate. There's a
taxi stand on 11th St at the Pearl Street Mall.
