TAG's dinner
menu, with its bold and bizarre concoctions, might make more sense after a hit of acid; we
still can't decide if hiramasa kingfish dressed in Pop Rocks candy is revolutionary or re-
volting. Apply this same mad-scientist meddling to the drinks menu, however, and it's
amazing. Jalapeño kumquat mojito? Yes, please.

Nallen's is a venerable Irish pub, and since opening in 1992 it seems to have started a
craze. Happy hour is from 2pm to 7pm.

The Celtic Tavern is a warm and convivial place with 50 beers on tap and a se-
lection of top-shelf Scottish, Irish and American whiskeys to sample. The bar menu fea-
tures traditional Irish stew, shepherd's pie and the like, as well as classic American favor-
ites.

Denver's largest
Irish Bar - an enormous 11,000 sq ft - maintains a surprisingly snuggled-down feel
through dark wood, polished brass, book shelves and fireside seating. If the environs are a
bit mannish, it seems to suit the guys who loosen their ties and talk business over a Guin-
ness and some fine pub grub.
