COCKTAIL BAR
( 303-996-9985; www.tag-restaurant.com ; 1441 Larimer St; cocktails $9-12; 2, 12, 15 RTD) TAG's dinner
menu, with its bold and bizarre concoctions, might make more sense after a hit of acid; we
still can't decide if hiramasa kingfish dressed in Pop Rocks candy is revolutionary or re-
volting. Apply this same mad-scientist meddling to the drinks menu, however, and it's
amazing. JalapeƱo kumquat mojito? Yes, please.

craze. Happy hour is from 2pm to 7pm.

IRISH PUB
( 303-573-0336; www.katiemullens.com ; 1550 Court Pl; 11am-2am; ; 15 RTD) Denver's largest
Irish Bar - an enormous 11,000 sq ft - maintains a surprisingly snuggled-down feel
through dark wood, polished brass, book shelves and fireside seating. If the environs are a
bit mannish, it seems to suit the guys who loosen their ties and talk business over a Guin-
ness and some fine pub grub.
