Only a dozen barrels of whiskey are produced from this family distillery each
week - and they're damn good. Using water from the Rockies, Colorado barley and
white-oak barrels, it's a rare taste of quality over quantity. Short tours of the facility are
available, though limited space means it's best to sign up online.

beers from the boutique makers in the LoDo district. It takes a couple of hours in the af-
ternoon on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The tours kick off from the River North Brewery
or the Rock Bottom Brewery.

Denver Inside & Out
( 303-330-9871;
www.denverinsideandout.com
; adult/child/under 5yr $40/35/free)
This outfit offers inter-
esting historical walking tours based on the 1922 daylight robbery of the Denver Mint.
They're cleverly done, with some of the robbers coming to life along the way, and myster-
ies and clues acted out in situ.
GUIDED TOUR
Platte Valley Trolley
TOUR
( 303-458-6255;
www.denvertrolley.org
;
Platte St; adult/child $4/2; departures noon-3:30pm Fri-Sun; 6,
10, 28, 32, 44 RTD)
Ride the historic Platte Valley Trolley, which trundles along its tracks from
the REI store south towards the football stadium. To be honest the sights aren't much -
mostly the same stuff you see in a short walk around the area - but the stories from the
history-buff staff are enlightening.
