In-Depth Information
things, save and close your image; in your slideshow, Elements updates the image's
thumbnail to reflect your changes.
Sync the slide display to the music . Use the Speed drop-down menu at the bottom of
the window to tell Elements whether to ignore the audio track when it displays your
slides or to sync the slides and the music together, either slowly (Normal) or fast (Brisk).
If you turn on syncing, you should see the rate at which your slides appear speed up and
slow down along with the music.
Turn captions on or off . You can show or hide any captions that you've added to your
photos by clicking this button. You can add captions right in the Slideshow Builder by
clicking the area below a photo and then typing what you want. Not all the slideshow
themes can display captions. They don't appear in the Minimalist theme, for example,
even if you turn them on here.
Add slides with text on them . If you want to create credits, titles, or visual narrations,
click the Add Text Slide button, and Elements creates a blank slide that you can type on.
Just click the slide thumbnail where it says “Add Text Here.” Unfortunately, you have no
control over the size, color, or font Elements uses (all that is controlled by the theme you
chose), and you can't add more than one line of text to any text slide. If you want to go
back and edit your text later, just click the slide again to activate the text so you can
change it.
Once you have everything adjusted the way you like, it's time to save your work. If you want
to be able to edit your slideshow later, click the Save button at the bottom right of the win-
dow and give your project a name. It will be in the Organizer next time you want to work on
it. To share your slideshow with other people, click the Export button instead, and choose
one of these two options:
Export to Local Disk . Choose this command and then name your slideshow, choose
where you want to save it, and select a size. Your choices are 640x480, 720p HD, and
1080p HD. After you click OK, it takes Elements a few minutes to finalize your file,
which is in MP4 format. After Elements is through, it asks whether you want to import
the completed file to the Organizer.
Facebook . If you want to share your slideshow with your Facebook friends, choose this
option, and then wait while Elements finalizes your slideshow. When it's done, you have
to authorize Elements to upload to Facebook. There's also a checkbox that lets you
download your friends list into Elements' Contact Book ( Individual Attachments ).
