In-Depth Information
The dialog box also lets you play any audio captions included in your files, display text
captions, and allow Elements to resize the slideshow's photos and videos so they fit on-
screen (yes, videos play here, too, if you include them in the show). You can also choose
to display a strip of thumbnails of all your photos along the bottom of the screen (the
control strip's Film Strip button does the same thing). Use the Page Duration drop-down
menu to determine how long each photo stays onscreen.
Fix . Click this button for a pop-out panel that lets you apply all the quick fixes you can
apply in the main Organizer window ( Media View ) .
Organize . You can tag photos or sort them into albums right in Full Screen view. Just
click this button for a pop-out panel that lists your albums and your most commonly used
tags ( Creating Categories and Tags ).
Info . This button brings up the same information about the current photo that you see in
the Information pane in the main Organizer window. (If you're using a two-image view,
Elements puts a blue outline around the image it's displaying information about.)
Exit . Press Esc or click this button to end the show.
If you click the arrow at the right end of the control strip, Elements contracts the strip to hide
the Fix, Organize, and Info buttons.
It takes hardly any time to set up this kind of slideshow, and all you have to do once you get
it going is stand back and accept compliments for your impressive display. The disadvantage
to this kind of slideshow, obviously, is that you can't share it with anyone who doesn't have
access to your computer. But fortunately, as the next section explains, Elements also lets you
create slideshows that you can send to other folks.
Organizer Slideshows
Elements 13 makes it super easy to create deluxe slideshows that include special effects and
music, and are suitable for viewing on today's high-definition screens. These new slideshows
are all pre-designed templates that you can't customize as much as the old slideshows in-
cluded in previous Windows versions of Elements, but now you can create the same
slideshows in both Windows and OS X. Elements now does the heavy lifting for you, but
your final slideshows are in the widely used MP4 format, which means they're easy to share.
You can also send your slideshows straight to Facebook, if you like.
