In-Depth Information
TIP
You can create a book of photos without using Elements' Photo Book feature at all. Just
open a web browser and head to the Shutterfly website, upload your photos, and then
have the company print them in its own style of photo book. This method works with oth-
er photo-printing websites, too, like Lulu.com and MyPublisher.com; Mac folks can also
order books through iPhoto (and most likely through the new Photos application when it
comes out).
Greeting Cards
For greeting cards, Elements lets you choose from several different layouts: some single-
page options and several folded styles. (Your actual options depend to some extent on where
you are. If you're in England, for instance, you may not see any folded-card templates.) And
although they're all templates for cards from Shutterfly, you can also print them at home.
The process for creating a card is the same as for a collage ( Photo Collages ) or photo book.
To get started, choose Create→Greeting Card.
TIP
You can also create folded cards in the Editor. Just create a blank file that's the size of the

the fold will be. For a single-fold card, create one file for the outside of the card and a
second one for the inside. For a card that's folded twice, you need only a single file, but
you'll want a second guide for the second fold.

You can make very nice wall calendars in Elements. To get started, go to Create→Photo Cal-
endar. In the Photo Calendar window, pick a month and year for the calendar's starting point,
and then choose a theme. As with the other Create projects, you get a nice animated preview
of each theme.
After you click OK, you can customize each month (add or remove photos, change the back-
ground, add artwork, and so on) using the methods explained earlier in this chapter ( Custom-
