In-Depth Information
NOTE
This chapter starts by explaining how to create a collage, since that's the most generic of
Elements' Create projects, and the others (photo book, calendar, and so on) work like the
collage, but with particular limitations and variations for each one. However, in Elements
13, the collage is also the one project you probably don't want to make in Create, for the
simple reason that you can create one without a special template (unlike, say, a DVD label
[ CD/DVD Labels ] ).
In some previous versions of Elements, the Create feature offered options that weren't
available elsewhere in the Editor, but that's no longer the case. So, honestly, if you want
to create a collage, you're probably better off just starting with a blank file in Expert
mode (File→New→Blank File) that's the size you want and then making your project
there, since you can save it in any format you like, rotate the page (if you want), and then
add everything from the Graphics panel without the limitations that Create imposes.
One type of page you can make in Create is a photo collage , which displays one or more
photos, with or without a themed background. ( Figure 15-1 gives you a glimpse of what you
can do.) Elements starts you off with one basic template crammed with suggested photo
placeholders, but you can add or remove photos, as well as change the background, frame
styles, and other details.
