tiple files in the Raw Converter.
NOTE
In Windows, you may not be able to open raw files by double-clicking them outside Ele-
ments (on the desktop, for instance). If you try that, Windows may open the file in its
Photos app, or you may see a message to the effect that your computer has no idea what
program to use to open that file. (Windows may also offer to take you to a website where
you can download the files necessary to display your raw photos.) To make your com-
puter always use Elements to open raw files, follow the steps on Opening Stored Images .
On a Mac, you can usually open raw files in Preview. As long as you don't have a very
new—or very old—camera (or one of the few models that Apple doesn't have the neces-
sary information for), OS X should understand the raw files your camera creates.
