NOTE
Background layers are the only kind of layer you can't move. If you want to put a Back-
ground layer in another spot in the layer stack, first convert it to a regular layer (
The
Background
)
, and
then
move it.
You can also move layers by going to Layer→Arrange and choosing one of these commands:

Bring to Front
(Shift+Ctrl+]/Shift-
⌘
-]) sends the active layer to the top of the stack so
the layer's contents appear in your image's foreground.

Bring Forward
(Ctrl+]/
⌘
-]) moves the layer up one level in the Layers panel so it ap-
pears one step closer to the front of your image.
▪
Send Backward
(Ctrl+[/
⌘
-[) moves the layer down one level so it's one step farther
back in the image.
