Figure 4-17. Elements includes even more effects than you can see when you first bring up the Ef-
fects pane. Each effect has four hidden alternative versions. When you click any effect, its section
expands to show you four more thumbnails, offering you a variety of versions, so you can get sever-
al different looks from the same effect depending on which thumbnail you click. You may need to
wait a few seconds while Elements figures out how to apply the effect to your photo, since most of
them are pretty complex and your computer has to do a lot of work behind the scenes before you
see the final result. When you move on and click a different effect, the previous effect's section
closes back up so you're not overwhelmed by all the available options.
