The Sights in a Day
Get up early and head to Sai Kung with enough water and snacks to last three
hours, then take a cab to the High Island Reservoir East Dam ( Click here )
and begin hiking. Take lots of photos - it's one of Hong Kong's most beautiful places.
Chat up the locals - Hong Kong's hikers are friendly people.
Walk back to Pak Tam Chung, then take a bus to Sai Kung. If you're tired and
hungry, have tea at Honeymoon Dessert ( Click here ) , then make your way to
Sha Tin to check out the Hong Kong Heritage Museum ( Click here ) for a couple of
hours. If you're feeling perky and there's enough time, go all the way to Yuen Long to see
a magnificent walled village on the Ping Shan Heritage Trail ( Click here ) .
Have dinner at Shatin 18 ( Click here ) or at Dah Wing Wah ( Click here ) in
Yuen Long, depending on where you end up. Return to your hotel to shower.
Then if you're still not ready for bed, head to Kowloon or the Island for drinks.
