A favourite of Tsim Sha Tsui's Indian community, Woodlands comes highly recommen-
ded for its excellent South Indian fare and modest charm. Dithering gluttons should order
the thali meal, a metal tray with samplings of curries, rice and dessert. (

At 'Shanghai Nights', dark woods and subtle lighting, inspired by 1920s Shanghai, fill the
air with romance. The modern culinary creations, which are lighter than traditional Shang-
hainese fare, are also exquisite. The only exceptions to the Shanghai-style harmony are
the Cantonese dim sum served at lunch, though these are wonderful too. (

At this first-rate steakhouse, the imported beef exhilarates even without the trimmings
(exotic salts and mustard blends, gourmet steak knives), and the salad bar ($300 per per-
son) is a garden of delight. Harbourside ( 2313 2495; 6am-midnight) , in the same hotel,
has great pizzas, Western and Asian dishes and a Sunday champagne brunch (noon to
2.30pm) that's a favourite of the buffet brigade. (
