7 Middle Road Children's Playground

This leafy playground, atop the East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, is usually quiet, but on
weekends families and picnickers of as many ethnicities as there are ways to go down a
slide, come here to enjoy themselves. Its eastern exit leads to the handsome Tsim Sha
Tsui East Waterfront Podium Garden where you can linger over a book under white
shade sails or make your way to the waterfront. (Middle Rd;

Take a Break Enjoy beer and German sausages at King Ludwig Beer Hall ( Click here ) ,
at the foot of the steps leading to the park.

Lording it over the southern tip of Kowloon, this grand dame of Asia evokes colonial el-
egance. Taking afternoon tea in the colonnaded lobby is one of the best experiences in
town - dress neatly and be prepared to queue for a table. But it's well worth a look, even
if you're not eating here. (

9 Kowloon Mosque & Islamic Centre

Hong Kong's largest mosque occupies the site of a previous one built in 1896 for Muslim
Indian troops garrisoned in barracks at Kowloon Park. The mosque, with its handsome
dome, minarets and a carved marble exterior, accommodates 7000 worshippers. Non-
Muslims should ask permission to enter. Remember to remove your shoes if you do. (
