Hong Kong's oldest former school for expatriate children is an Edwardian building that
now houses the
Antiquities and Monuments Office
, the official authority on the city's
built heritage. Constructed in 1902, the school was subsequently modified to incorporate
verandahs and high ceilings, prompted perhaps by the frequent fainting spells suffered by
its delicate occupants.
