Understand
The Murray Puzzle
Murray House (see Local Life, Click here ) was relocated to Stanley in 2001 to make room for the Bank of China
Building in Central. The Grade 1 heritage building was dismantled piece by piece, and all 4000 numbered pieces
painstakingly reassembled at its new waterfront home. However, after the colossus was put back together again,
six columns were left over. As you approach Murray House, you'll see the Ionic columns standing rather forlornly
off to the left along the waterfront promenade. Note, too, some of the numbers still visible on the building blocks
to the right of the entrance.
