If you only have time for one souvenir place, make it G.O.D.. This cheeky lifestyle store,
named with an acronym that, they say, means 'goods of desire' and nothing else, gives a
witty take on an older and less-affluent Hong Kong. If you're into retro with a twist,
you'll love it here. G.O.D. has five branches, including one at the Jockey Club Creative
Arts Centre (JCCAC; Click here ) . ( www.god.com.hk ; Leighton Centre, Sharp St E, Causeway Bay;

Between appointments, office workers pack themselves into this mall right next to
Southorn Playground, sometimes just so they can have their finger on the gadgetry pulse.
It's got everything here from iPhones and tablets to notebooks, laptops and custom-made
'white box' computers. And air-con. There's some leeway for bargaining. (1st fl, Southorn
Centre, 130-138 Hennessy Rd, Wan Chai;
10am-8pm Mon-Sat;
Wan Chai, exit B2)
Local Life
Wan Chai's Markets
The area sandwiched by Queen's Rd East and Johnston Rd in Wan Chai is a lively outdoor bazaar thronged with
vendors, shoppers and parked cars. Cross St and the northern section of Stone Nullah Lane feature wet markets
(, D4; 7.30am-7pm) in all their screaming splendour. Tai Yuen Street ), woon gui kaai ), aka 'toy street' to loc-
als, has hawkers selling goldfish, plastic flowers and granny-style underwear, but it's best known for its tradition-
al toy shops (D4; 14-19 Tai Yuen St), where you'll find not only kiddies' playthings, but clockwork tin and other
kidult collectibles. Spring Garden Lane and Wan Chai Rd are a treasure trove of shops selling everything from In-
dian and Southeast Asian spices to funerary offerings and gadgets.
