Edward Youde Aviary
The park's highlight, this aviary ( 9am-5pm) is home to more than 600 birds, representing
around 90 species. Designed like a rainforest, it has a wooden bridge suspended 10m
above the ground, eye level with tree branches. The Forsgate Conservatory (
9am-5pm) ,
on the slope overlooking the park, is the largest in Southeast Asia.
Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware
At the park's northernmost tip is this museum (admission free; 10am-5pm Wed-Mon) . Built in
1846, it is the oldest colonial building in Hong Kong still standing in its original spot. The
museum houses a collection of antique Chinese tea ware: brewing trays, sniffing cups and
teapots made of porcelain or purple clay.
KS Lo Gallery
The KS Lo Gallery ( 2869 0690; 10 Cotton Tree Dr; admission free; 10am-5pm Wed-Mon) , in a
building southeast of the museum, contains rare Chinese ceramics and stone seals collec-
ted by the gallery's eponymous benefactor.
Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre
On the eastern edge of the park, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (7A Kennedy Rd; admis-
sion free; 10am-9pm Wed-Mon) , housed in the Cassels Block of the former Victoria Barracks,
supports local artists and stages exhibitions.
Top Tips
There's a crafts fair (noon to 6pm Saturday and Sunday) outside the Museum of Tea Ware featuring handicrafts
for sale and calligraphy and paper-cut art demos.
Lock Cha Tea Shop ( Click here ) has Chinese music performances or tea talks on Sunday (4pm to 6pm), but
you'll need to reserve a seat (see website for details).
