Top Tips
Begin at the main entrance in the middle of Chambers St, rather than the modern tower at the
west end of the street. You'll find an info desk with museum maps and leaflets, a cloakroom, toi-
lets and a cafe-restaurant.
Free, one-hour guided tours of the museum depart at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, each covering a dif-
ferent theme; ask for details at the info desk.

The Museum Brasserie ( 225 4040; Chambers St; mains £6-8; 10am-5pm; ) in the basement
of the Victorian part of the museum serves light lunches; Tower ( Click here ) , in the modern half,
is more formal and has an outdoor terrace with stunning views over the city.
