Day Three
Fingers crossed and hope for good weather - begin the day with a visit to the
Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art ( Click here ) , then enjoy a surpris-
ingly bucolic walk along the Water of Leith Walkway to Stockbridge where you can ex-
plore the boutiques on St Stephen Street before pausing for lunch at Cafe Fish ( Click
here ) or a refreshing pint in the Stockbridge Tap ( Click here ) .
If it's Sunday, spend an hour or so browsing the stalls at Stockbridge Market ,
then make the short stroll to the Royal Botanic Garden ( Click here ) . If you
didn't have lunch in Stockbridge, head to the garden's Gateway Restaurant or Terrace Cafe.
This is one of the UK's leading botanic gardens, so devote the rest of the afternoon to ex-
ploring the palm houses, rock gardens, woodland gardens and outdoor sculptures.
In the evening, treat yourself to a decadent dinner amid the Gothic grandeur of
Rhubarb ( Click here ) or the Georgian elegance of 21212 ( Click here ) . Have
tickets booked for a show at the Lyceum ( Click here ) or the Playhouse ( Click here ), or
head for late-night cocktails at Bramble ( Click here ) or Lulu ( Click here ) .
