Day Two
Make morning number two a feast of culture, with a tour of the recently re-
vamped exhibits in the National Museum of Scotland ( Click here ) , followed
by a short stroll down the Mound - with great views across Princes Street Gardens and the
New Town - to the iconic artworks of the Scottish National Gallery ( Click here ) .
Try a lunch of haggis or Cullen skink in the gallery's Scottish Cafe & Restaur-
ant ( Click here ) , then work off those calories by climbing to the top of the
nearby Scott Monument ( Click here ) for even better views. Catch a bus on Princes St and
relax as you head to Ocean Terminal for a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia ( Click here
).
Time your trip to get the last two hours of opening at Britannia, then head for a
pre-booked dinner at one of Leith's many fine restaurants - Martin Wishart (
Click here ) for fine French dining, or Fishers Bistro ( Click here ) for fresh seafood. Stay
in Leith for a pint at Teuchters Landing ( Click here ) or a cocktail in a teapot at the
Roseleaf ( Click here ) , or head back to the city centre to sample some Edinburgh-brewed
beer in the magnificent surroundings of the Café Royal Circle Bar ( Click here ) .
