(2km north of San Juan del Sur; admission US$2; 8am-5pm) This 25m statue of Jesus - one of
the tallest in the world - overlooks the town. Take the one-hour hike up to catch a great
bird's-eye (or son of God's eye) view of the harbor and ocean.

Activities
Surfing
The best surfing is generally April to December, but waves are less crowded in the low
season. There's a beach break on bigger swells at the northern end of the beach, but most
surfers hire boats or stay at the beaches north and south of town. Casa Oro Hostel runs a
daily shuttle out to Playa Maderas.
