a tidy garden, good hangout areas and plenty of waterfront hammock action. The brick
rooms are on the small side but spotless, with very thin mattresses (room 1 is best).

More like a resort than anywhere else on the island, this class act sprawls out along the
beachfront. Rooms upstairs have a pleasant nautical feel to them and unfortunate slump-
ing beds. Rooms 3 and 4 have the best views. The cement
cabinas
across the road are air-
conditioned but further from the water. The restaurant is excellent, and staff arrange tours.

in Santo Domingo are found at this friendly beachfront hotel. The elegant

fantastic restaurant.

Right at the northern entrance to Santo Domingo, this little
beachside beauty serves up some tasty vegetarian curries, healthy breakfasts (with whole-
meal bread!) and delicious organic fruit juices.
South to Santa Cruz
Between Playa Santo Domingo and Santa Cruz are a collection of smaller hotels. The
beach here (which is really the same one) is just as good as the one to the north, but far
less crowded.
