There are two grocery stores: Supermercado Colonia OFFLINE MAP (Calle La Inmaculada,
Parque Sandino, 4c O) , out on the road to Managua, has slightly more 'gourmet' offerings
and a good cheese selection; Palí OFFLINE MAP (Calle Atravesada, frente mercado) , across
from the Mercado Municipal, has better prices, a narrower selection and a tiny on-site
bakery.
Granada has excellent street food, with bags of fruit salad (with fork US$0.30) and oth-
er goodies on sale between the Parque Central and the Mercado Municipal ( Click here ) in
the morning. Just before sunset, fritangas OFFLINE MAP (sidewalk barbecues; snacks US$1-3)
set up in the Parque Central and Calle La Calzada, dishing up barbecue, gallo pinto (rice
and beans) and all things fried onto washed banana leaves for you to enjoy.
