nightlife zone has a predictably good range of places to eat. Prices (and
decor) are a lot more humble out here, and you're unlikely to see another tourist (or, re-
freshingly, a menu in dollars).

Right at the center of this busy neighborhood,
this legendary pizza joint serves up OK pies (beware the Hawaiian, though, with its
glazed-pineapple topping). The real reason you're here, however, is for the atmosphere.
Kick back, grab a beer and watch as the dueling mariachis battle it out.
Cocina de Doña Haydee
(Rotonda Bello Horizonte, 70m E; dishes US$4-8)
Adding a bit of refinement to the area, this
spin-off of the popular Los Robles restaurant offers the same range of well-presented,
carefully prepared traditional Nica dishes.

Don Pez

The best seafood restaurant in the area, the
Don also grills a pretty mean steak. It's hard to pass up the surf-and-turf platter (fish,
shrimp and beef).

There are bars all over town, but the best ones can be found in Barrio Martha Quezada,
around the Metrocentro mall and at the Rotonda Bello Horizonte. Take a cab home!
