4 Barrio Martha Quezada & Around
Better known to taxistas as 'Tica bus,' the international bus terminal upon which the barrio
(district) is centered, Martha Quezada's been hosting shoestringers for a generation. Just to
the south, the leafier, more upscale residential neighborhood of Bolonia has a handful of re-
laxed boutique hotels. Directions here are usually given from Canal Dos (Canal 2).

guesthouse has spotless, no-frills rooms, and a central patio with a TV and a shared kit-
chen. It's a few steps from the Tica bus terminal, but this block is reputedly quite danger-
ous at night.

done out in cutesy, homey decorations, run alongside a pretty garden. The rooms are pass-
able, but the service is just a bit odd.
