In-Depth Information
Exiting the cemetery, take a left at SE 26th Ave., then a right at SE
Stark St. At Stark and SE 28th Ave., you can link with Walk 17: Kerns
and Laurelhurst Park , or you can continue up Stark, bordering Laurel-
hurst Park, along a quiet, tree-lined residential street.
Beer nerds should note Belmont Station, at SE Stark St. and 45th Ave.,
a bottle shop with a tiny pub attached. It's run by the same folks who
operate the Horse Brass Pub. The variety of beer and hard cider avail-
able for purchase is astounding, and the shop also sells imported British
snacks, in case you're fresh out of Twiglets or Marmite.
The walk ends at Caldera Public House, a friendly brewpub serving up-
scale food and fine craft beers in the 1910 Thomas Graham building. (It
was once a pharmacy and is now a historic landmark, and once upon a
time it faced a streetcar line that ran up and down the hill.) Ignore the
awful gray-and-taupe neo-blah multiuse building across the street.
From Caldera, simply walk south on SE 60th Ave. to return to SE Bel-
mont St. and our starting point.
