Universal Studios Cuisine
The best restaurants here are just outside the main gates at CityWalk (p. 338),
Universal's restaurant and nightclub venue. But there are more than a dozen
places to eat inside the park. Here are my favorites:
Best Sit-Down Meal: Lombard's Seafood Grille serves up a hearty fried
shrimp basket, as well as a selection of seafood, pasta, salads, and sandwiches
($11-$16) in slightly more upscale surroundings. It's located across from
Disaster! A Major Motion Picture . . . Starring You!
Best Counter Service: Universal Studio's Classic Monster Cafe serves salads,
pizza, pasta, and rotisserie chicken ($7-$9) with a side of classic and creepy
creatures. It's off 7th Avenue, near Shrek 4-D.
Best Place for Hungry Families: Similar to a mall food court, the International
Food and Film Festival offers a variety of foods in a single location. With options
ranging from stir-fry to chicken Parmesan, families can easily please each of their
palates (even the pickier ones), all under one roof. There are kids' meals for less
than $7 at most locations. The food is far from gourmet, but it is a cut above regu-
lar fast food ($8-$10). It's located near the back of Animal Actors on Location!
Best Snack: Milkshakes ($4-$5) and ice-cream sundaes ($5-$6) at Schwab's
Pharmacy make perfect pick-me-ups. It's located across the street from Termi-
nator 2: 3-D Battle Across Time.

Quint's Surf Shack This is the place to go for a different kind of T-shirt. Tropical
colors with subtle Universal logos and island wear are the thing here.
Silver Screen Collectibles Fans of I Love Lucy will adore the small variety of collect-
ible dolls. There's also a Betty Boop line. For an interesting, practical, and inexpensive
little something to take home, check out the Woody Woodpecker back-scratcher.
Universal Studios Store This store, near the entrance, sells just about everything
when it comes to Universal apparel, and there are plenty of toys and trinkets as well.
Logo blankets (made of super soft jersey—think comfy sweatshirt) are one of the more
useful souvenirs sold here.
Tips
A Night at the Movies
Universal 360: A Cinesphere Spectacular, Universal Orlando's seasonal night-
time show, made its debut in the summer of 2006. This spectacular after-dark
production (albeit seasonal) immerses guests in the movie experience, project-
ing images from Hollywood's hottest hits across four tremendous “cinespheres” in
the park's central lagoon. The scenes and images appear and change throughout
the show while 300 outdoor speakers ensure that the accompanying music is
heard by everyone who's even remotely nearby. Lasers and special pyrotechnic
effects add to the already amazing visuals.
