Hampton Inn at Universal Studios There's nothing fancy about this simple hotel,
but it's in a good location if you plan to spend most of your time at Universal Orlando,
which is only 2 blocks away. It's also relatively close to SeaWorld and among the closest
to downtown Orlando, but a 10-mile haul from Disney. Some rooms have microwaves
and refrigerators. Although there's no restaurant on the premises, there are plenty within
walking distance. A complimentary continental breakfast is included—if you're in a hurry
to get to the parks, just pick up a bagged grab-n-go breakfast on your way out the door.

without having to pay the heftier rates that come with staying on park property, this

offer an efficient alternative to standing in line at the front desk, and rooms feature comfy

If you're coming into town during peak season and you're having trouble finding
a room, the 1,052-room Wyndham Orlando Resort, 8001 International Dr.

landscaped property that's good for families and features numerous pools, play-
grounds, and a kids' club for children ages 4 to 12. Rates run between $84 and
$194. The 1,338-room Caribe Royale Orlando All-Suites Hotel & Convention
Center, 8101 World Center Dr. ( & 800/823-8300 or 407/238-8000; www.caribe
royale.com), has spacious one-bedroom suites (kitchenettes) and two-bedroom
villas (Jacuzzis and full kitchens). The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the
pool has cascading waterfalls and a 75-foot water slide, there is a playground
nearby, and the service is tops.
