It's well-run by Ana and Natalija, who sometimes lead the tours.
Getting There: It's directly behind the twin steeples of the Trnovo Church. The
15-minutestrollfromthecenter—thesameonePle č niktooktoworkeachday—isnearlyas
enjoyable as the house itself. You can either walk south along the river, then turn right onto
Gradaškaandstrollalongthestreamtothechurch;or,fromFrenchRevolutionSquare,head
south on Emonska. Either way, you'll pass through the garden-patch district of Krakovo,
wherepeapatchesandcharacteristic OldWorldbuildingsgracefullycohabitate.Ontheway
to or from the museum, it's enjoyable to get a meal in Krakovo (three restaurants—Pri
Škofu, Manna, and Harambaša—are described later, under “Eating in Ljubljana”).
Visiting the House: Ljubljana's favorite son lived here from 1921 until his death in
1957. He added on to an existing house, building a circular bedroom for himself and filling
theplacewithbric-a-brachedesigned,aswellasartifacts,photos,andgiftsfromaroundthe
world that inspired him as he shaped Ljubljana. Living a simple, almost monastic lifestyle,
Ple č nik knew what he liked, and these tastes are mirrored in his house.
