In-Depth Information
I've organized the sights in this chapter based on which side of the river they're on: the
east (castle) side of the river, where Ljubljana began, with more medieval charm; and the
west (Prešeren Square) side of the river, which has a more Baroque/Art Nouveau feel and
most of the urban sprawl. At the northern edge of the tourist's Ljubljana is the train station
and Metelkova museum and nightlife zone; at the southern edge are the garden district of
Krakovo and the Jože Ple č nik House; and at the western edge is Tivoli Park.
