While they lack the Old Bridge views, these places are just as central as those listed above,
and serve food that's generally a step up. The first three places are in the atmospheric Old
Town, while the last one is in the modern part of town.
Restoran Hindin Han is pleasantly situated on a woody terrace over a rushing stream.
It's respected locally for its good cooking and fair prices (big 12-16-KM salads, 7-15-KM
grilled dishes, 12-20-KM fish and other main dishes, Sarajevsko beer on tap, daily
11:00-24:00,Jusovina10,tel.036/581-054).Tofindit,walkwestfromtheOldBridge,bear

Nacionalni Restoran Aš č inica Balkan (“Balkan National Restaurant/Cafeteria”) is a
convenient cafeteria-style eatery with two handy locations. They serve up tasty, home-
cookedBosnianspecialties; youcanorderfromthemenu,butit'smorefuntoordera“mix”
(mješanac) plate from the display case—the small 10-KM plate is plenty for a light meal
(16-KM “medium” and 20-KM “large” plates also available, 3-KM salads, Bosnian coffee,
tempting dessert display case, daily 10:00-22:00, one location right at the end of the Old
Town cobbles before the market, the other a couple of blocks away on the new town's main
drag at Bra ć e Feji ć a 57, tel. 036/551-868).
Saray is an untouristy, nondescript little eatery just uphill from the Kara đ ozbeg Mosque
in the modern part of town. They have a basic menu of cheap and very tasty grilled
meats—specializing in the classic ć evap č i ć i (little sausage-shaped meat patties)—and out-
doorseating overlooking a playground that offers goodpeople- and kid-watching while you
eat (4-10-KM grilled meat dishes, big 7-KM salads, daily 7:00-23:00, Kara đ ozbegova 3,
mobile 062-062-301).
Urban Grill 's food is nothing special—it has basically the same menu as other places
in town—but its terrace enjoys one of Mostar's best unobstructed views of the Old Bridge
(8-17-KM grilled meat and other meals, 10-12-KM pastas and salads, Bosnian coffee, daily
8:00-22:00,enteralongthemaincobbledOldTowndragatMalaTepa26,tel.036/552-235).
