Getting There
Cavtat and the Elaphite Islands are easy to reach by private excursion boat from
Dubrovnik's Old Port; Cavtat also works by bus. A city-run boat links the Old Port to
nearby Lokrum. Public ferries connect Dubrovnik's Port Gruž to the Elaphite Islands (the
most appealing is Lopud). The other destinations are farther afield, best reached by boat
(Mljet) or by car or bus (Montenegro, Mostar, Trsteno, Pelješac Peninsula).
I've listed public transportation options for each, but consider renting a car for the day.

Alternatively, a variety of travel agencies in Dubrovnik offer guided excursions (by bus
and/or boat) to nearby destinations. Popular itineraries include everything mentioned in this
