By Plane: To quickly connect remote Dubrovnik with the rest of your trip, consider
a cheap flight. For information on Dubrovnik's airport, see “Arrival in Dubrovnik—By
Plane,” earlier.
By Car: For tips on driving along the Dalmatian Coast between Dubrovnik and Split,
see here in the Split chapter.
Can I Get to Greece from Dubrovnik? Your best bet is to fly (though there are no
direct flights, aside from the occasional charter flight from Dubrovnik to Athens—you'll
generally have to transfer elsewhere in Europe). Even though Croatia and Greece are nearly
neighbors, no direct boats connect them, and the overland connection is extremely long and
rugged.
What About Italy? Flyingistheeasiestoption,thoughthereareonlyafewdirectflights
(on Croatia Airlines to Rome or Venice; or on easyJet to Rome or Milan). You can take a
direct night boat from Dubrovnik to Bari, or head to Split for more boat connections (for
more on all of these boats, see here ) . The overland connection is overly long (figure 5 hours
to Split, then 5 hours to Zagreb, then 7 hours to Venice).
