Just Outside the Old Town, with a View
(See “Old Town Hotels & Restaurants” map, here .)
Orhan Restaurant, overlooking the tranquil cove at the Pile neighborhood outside the Old
Town, feels just beyond the tourist crush. It features disinterested service and unremark-
able food, but great views on a large terrace (reserve a seat here in advance). Watch the
people walk the City Walls across the cove. This is a handy spot for a scenic breakfast
(70-115-kn pastas, 95-160-kn main courses, daily 8:00-23:00, cash only, Od Tabakarije 1,

Komarda serves up forgettable food on a memorably romantic terrace, with views of

sea and a concrete beach. As there's no point eating here unless you have a good view, con-

sential in summer, mobile 098-428-239, http://komarda.hr ) . To find it, exit the Old Town
through the Plo č e Gate (east). After walking through the final fortification, you'll reach a
block of travel agencies. Once you pass these, look for the stairs down to Komarda, on the
right.

Breakfast
(See “Old Town Hotels & Restaurants” map, here .)
If you're sleeping in a soba, you'll likely be on your own for breakfast. Fortunately, you
have plenty of cafés and pastry shops to choose from, and your host probably has a favor-
ite he or she can recommend. In the Old Town, Dubrava Bistro —which locals call “Sn-
ack Bar”—has great views and fine outdoor seating at the most colorful end of the Stradun.
