Spirited Lin đ o folk-music concerts are performed for tourists twice weekly (in good
weather, likely at the Jadran summer cinema or possibly at the newly renovated Laz-
areti—old quarantine building—just outside the Old Town's Plo č e Gate; rainy-day location
is Sloboda movie theater below the Bell Tower; 100 kn, usually at 21:30, www.lindjo.hr ).
The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra performs crowd-pleasing classics twice weekly
in summer (and once weekly through winter)—usually at the Rector's Palace in good
weather, or the Dominican Monastery in bad weather (100-250 kn, typically at 21:00,
www.dso.hr ).

oriented musical events most nights throughout the winter (often at a hotel). For the latest
on any of these festivals and concerts, check the events listings in the Best in Dubrovnik
brochure, or ask the TI.
Also consider the folk dancing and market each Sunday morning at Č ilipi, a small town
near the airport (see here ) . Dubrovnik-based companies offer excursions that include trans-
portation there and back.
Nightlife
Dubrovnik's Old Town is one big, romantic parade of relaxed and happy people out
strolling. The main drag is brightly lit and packed with shops, cafés, and bars, all open late.
This is a fun scene. And if you walk away from the crowds or out on the port, you'll be
alone with the magic of the Pearl of the Adriatic. Everything feels—and is—very safe after
dark.
