walk straight out the front door into town (about a 5- to 10-minute downhill walk). There's
also parking along the marina, but it's pricey (June-Sept 10 kn/hour, free 24:00-6:00; Oct-
May 5 kn/hour, free Mon-Fri 20:00-6:00, Sat 16:00-6:00, and all day Sun).
Helpful Hints
Boat Tickets: On arrival, plan for your departure (for your options, see “Kor č ula Connec-
tions,” later). Don't dawdle buying your tickets to leave Kor č ula—they can sell out.
The Jadrolinija office, selling tickets for the big car ferries, short hops across to the
Pelješac Peninsula, and fast catamarans to Hvar and Split, is located where the Old
Town meets the mainland (catamaran tickets sold the day before departure starting at

Dubrovnik; purchase those at the Korkyra Info travel agency, listed next.
Travel Agencies: Kor č ula has several travel agencies where you can book an excursion,
browse shelves of topics and souvenirs, and get information about car rental and other
activities. Korkyra Info, well-run by Vlado, seems to have a knack for creating ser-
vicesthatfilltravelers'needs.Inadditiontoprovidingalltheusualservices(car,scoot-
er, and boat rental; Internet terminals; room booking; and so on), they also have a
variety of enticing excursions and run a handy shuttle bus to Dubrovnik (office open

Laundry: Šugaman (“Towel”) is an innovative and very useful laundry service: Call them,
arrange a time to hand off your laundry, and they return it clean in a few hours. Since
they work closely with Korkyra Info, that's likely the easiest place to drop off (small
load-100 kn, more for larger loads, mobile 091-529-4631).
Sights in Korčula
Kor č ula's few sights cluster within a few yards of each other in the Old Town. I've listed
them roughly in order from the Great Land Gate (the Old Town's main entry) to the tip of
the Old Town peninsula. All museums are officially “closed” November through April, but
most will usually open by request (ask the TI to call for you...or just try knocking on the
door).
