The main “street” (actually a tight lane) leading through the middle of the island is choked
with tourists during the midday rush and lined with art galleries. This inspiring town has
attracted many artists, some of whom display their works along this colorful stretch. Notice
therustylittlenailsspecklingthewalls—eachyearinAugust,anartfestivalinviteslocalsto
hang their best art on this street. With paintings lining the lane, the entire community comes
out to enjoy each other's creations.
