The local transit company runs two hop-on, hop-off routes through the city, a handy way to
get to Zagreb's many outlying sights. Unfortunately, the frequency is sparse—only five per
day on one route, and two per day on the other (70 kn, May-Sept only, daily 12:00-18:00,

Square, linking almost
everything that's worth seeing in this city, including the two hilltop towns that merged in
1850 to become Zagreb: Gradec and Kaptol. If you don't enter any of the sights, the entire
route takes about 1.5 hours. But if you take your time, you can use it as a framework for
a full day of sightseeing. If you want to explore the market—which is near the end of this
walk—keep in mind that it gets quiet after about 14:00. To avoid feeling rushed, you may
