Getting Around
Pullman Bus
Running only on major highways, these are the most comfortable choice, although quality ranges from re-
cycled Greyhounds to brand-new Mercedes. You get your own numbered seat and they run either semidirect or direct.
Shuttle Bus
Booked through travel agents, hotels etc, these nonstop minibuses run between major tourist destinations
offering door-to-door service.
Chicken Bus
Recycled US school buses, these ones are cheap, go everywhere, stop for everybody and have no maxim-
um capacity.
Pickup Truck
In rural areas where there is no bus service this is a common way to get around. Flag one down wherever,
climb in the back and hang on. Fares are equivalent to chicken buses.
Car
If you're accustomed to crazy Latino traffic, driving is a great way to get off the beaten track.
Tuk-tuk
These little three-wheelers are great for short hops around town at a fraction of a taxi fare.
