Banrural (Av Flores, Flores) , off the Parque Central, changes dollars and euros, cash or travel-
er's checks. There's a handy Banco Industrial ATM (Calle 30 de Junio, Flores) at the Fotomart
convenience store, opposite Capitán Tortuga.There are plenty of other banks with ATMs
along 4a Calle in Santa Elena.
Many travel agencies and places to stay will change US dollars and sometimes travel-
er's checks, though at poorer rates.

Getting There & Away
AIR
Aeropuerto Internacional Mundo Maya is on the eastern outskirts of Santa Elena, 2km
from the causeway connecting Santa Elena and Flores. Taca ( 2470-8222) has two flights
daily between here and Guatemala City (one way/return Q1255/2165). The Belizean air-
line Tropic Air ( 7926-0348; www.tropicair.com ) flies twice a day to/from Belize City, charging
Q1015 each way for the one-hour trip.
BUS & MICROBUS
Long-distance buses use the Terminal Nuevo de Autobuses in Santa Elena, located 1km
south of the causeway along 6a Av. It is also used by a slew of microbuses, with frequent
services to numerous destinations. Second-class buses and some microbuses make an ad-
ditional stop at 5a Calle, in the market area (the 'old' terminal) before heading out. You can
reduce your trip time by 15 minutes by going straight to the market, though the vehicle
may be full by then.
