terranean, and indeed owner/chef Benito hails from Parma, Italy. The manicotti and ravi-
oli are made inhouse.

Xela's Zona Viva revolves around the Teatro Municipal, with discos and clubs popping
up along 1a and 2a Calles and up 14 Av.

For chocolate aficionados, this is a shrine.
Made from scratch on the premises, the chocolate is velvety smooth and served in a vari-
ety of beverages: the chocolate cappuccino, topped with fresh whipped cream, is mind-
blowing. Groups of friends gather in the various salons, which are littered with vintage
bric-a-brac.

On the plaza end of the elegant Pasaje Enríquez, alive day
and night with a healthy mix of Guatemalans and foreigners quaffing Cabro by the liter,
the Tecún claims to be the country's longest-running bar (since 1935). They also serve
good bar food. Don't miss it.
