1 . Utilizingaparticipatoryactionresearchapproachthroughthelensofdisabilitygeographyandwith
twenty women, aged twenty-one to sixty-six living in central Scotland. Nine women had vision
impairments, and eleven had physical impairments. All the women chose their own pseudonyms
(McFarlane, 2004).
