Be warned that the Cayman Islands exercise strict anti-drug laws. Mari-
juana is an illegal substance and possession of it can result not only in
large fines, but also in a prison term.

Electricity is 120 volts at 60 cycles. US appliances will not need adapters.

Gratuities
A 15% gratuity is standard. Some establishments add the gratuity to the
bill automatically, so be sure to check first.

TIPPING GUIDELINES

Restaurants : 15% of bill, but check first to see if a service charge
has already been included.
Bars : US $1 per drink.
Taxis : 10-15% for longer rides, but not expected for short ones.
Hotel bell desk : US $1 per bag or to call a cab.
Hotel housekeeping : US $1 per person, per day (except at all-
inclusive resorts).
Hotel room service : 15% of bill (except at all-inclusives).
Haircare and other personal services : 15% of bill.
