Getting Around
By Car
Only one rental car agency operates on Little Cayman. Mc-
Laughlin Jeep Rental (
345-949-1000, fax 345-948-1001) of-
fers daily and weekly rates for Jeeps and similar types of vehicles;
only standard (manual) transmission is available. To call the rental
agency on arrival, pick up the phone on the side of the airport building. Ve-
hicles are all right-hand drive. Rates start at US $49-60 daily. A Cay-
manian driver's permit is required for rentals; obtain one at McLaughlin's
for a US $7.50 fee. There is a 25 mph speed limit throughout the island.
By Bicycle
Another popular mode of transportation is the bicycle. Most resorts pro-
vide complimentary use of bicycles and, with practically no traffic on the
roads, they offer a peaceful way to see the island, journey to a secluded
beach, or pop into Blossom Village. The old cycles may not be the fastest ve-
hicles, but this is Little Cayman. What's the hurry?
