Rum Point is also home to the Barefoot Man, a.k.a. George Nowak. The
musician whose name is synonymous with Cayman music (you may have
seen him in
The Firm
) plays at Rum Point on Monday and Friday nights
from 5-10 pm at the Rum Point Restaurant and 2-6 on Saturdays on the
beach.

bean reef sharks up to seven feet long are spotted on these guided dives off
Jack McKennedy's Canyon.
Lunch & Snorkeling Trips
One opportunity to learn more about Caymanian life is on a North Sound
Beach Lunch & Snorkeling Trip, which is offered by numerous operators.
This trip also features snorkeling at either Stingray City or the Sandbar
(depending on visibility and water conditions) and Coral Gardens. The
crew dives for pink queen conch, a shellfish that's then prepared as an ap-
petizer, sliced and marinated in lime juice, onion and seasonings. Every-
one goes on shore at Cayman Kai for a Caymanian lunch of peas and rice,
potato or breadfruit salad, and local fish or spicy chicken. Part of the fun is
talking with the captain and crew about Caymanian life. These trips cost
about US $50 per person and run from 9 am to 3 or 4 pm.
