The problem was analysed considering the FEM, the NNRPIM and the RPIM.
The results regarding the displacement medium error, Eq. ( 5.1 ), are presented in
Fig. 5.38 for the two-dimensional analysis. Notice that the NNRPIM converges
with a higher rate when compared with the RPIM, regardless the use of regular or
irregular nodal distributions. It is also visible in Fig. 5.38 that compared with the
RPIM, the NNRPIM converges to a solution with a much lower medium dis-
placement error.
In Figs. 5.39 and 5.40 are presented the stress field medium error obtained with
Eq. ( 5.10 ). Comparing the NNRPIM stress results with the solutions obtained with
