MarketSquare: While you can hop on anywhere, it's most convenient to start—and
end—at Market Square by the TI. Stand at the tram stop that is between the fountain and the
market, and wait for one of the frequent #2 trams. Since the tracks split here briefly, it's hard
to get on in the wrong direction; still, confirm that the destination listed on the front of the
tram is Eläintarha, not Kaivopuisto. From Market Square, you'll first pass Senate Square
(with the gleaming white Lutheran Cathedral, a statue of Alexander II—Finland's favorite
czar, and many of the oldest buildings in town) and then head up Aleksanterinkatu street.
It's Helsinki's Fifth Avenue-type main shopping drag (tram stop: Aleksanterinkatu).
