You'll find some good shopping at the Ayapani Mall in town, a covered arcade that stretches over two
blocks.
Only a block from the 730 Monument is the port and marine terminal. Its full name is
the Port of Ishigaki Outer Islands Ferry Terminal ( 石垣港 離島ターミナル ; Ishigakikō ritō
tāminaru) and it's a beehive of activity. Like a busy airport, hundreds of vessels and thou-
sands of people every day transit through Ishigaki harbor.
There's a friendly, helpful tourist information center inside the terminal and there's usu-
ally someone there who speaks English. They can supply you with a map of the island and
