ferry dock. There, they'll give us a little guide map which lists the island's top sights. It's only
in Japanese but it has pictures of all the major sights. You can use it to point out where you
wish to go when asking directions from strangers.
From the terminal we'll work our way along the west coast towards the airport, then from
there north and east along Kume's rugged and very mountainous north shore. After visiting
the island's highest viewpoints at Kume's northern top, we'll go south and east, eventually ar-
riving at the Eef Beach area. Finally, we'll drop straight south towards Kume's very southern
bottom tip, Cape Shimajiri ( 島尻崎 ). After taking in the viewpoints from there, we'll have to
backtrack a bit north as we'll run out of road. We'll then return in a westerly direction back
to Gushikawa Town.
