Working with.Tabs
A tab enables you to have multiple web pages open at once within the
same browser window. When you launch Internet Explorer, it displays
your home page on a tab. To open another tab—leaving the page on the
first tab accessible—click the New Tab button (the grey box to the right
of the existing tab). A second tab opens, again with your home page
displayed. You can then type a URL in the address bar to visit a different
page as normal.
tab A web browser feature that enables users to
have multiple pages open at once within the same
browser window.
Perhaps even more useful, Internet Explorer enables you to open pages
via a hyperlink on a separate tab. To do so, right-click the hyperlink and
choose Open in New Tab from the menu that appears. Internet Explorer
opens a second tab and displays the linked page on it. Figure 10.4 shows
a browser window with multiple tabs open.

Adding Favorites (Bookmarks)
If you frequently visit a website, you might want to store it in your browser
so you don't have to type its URL every time you visit it. To do so, you
can save it as a Favorite (also called a Bookmark). A favorite is a website or
page that you visit frequently, and to which you want easy access.
